Trip Itinerary Soft Adventure journey in an open boat. Five day Trips leave every Monday, during the months of July and August. In July there are opportunities to experience Sea Trout fishing along the way. We will pick you up at your B&B or Hotel for a 8:30 meeting at the Kayak Shack. We will be packed and on the water by 11am for our adventure. In the five days we will journey from Cartwright to Eagle River to Indian Tickle by open boat in seas where Aboriginal people paddled and sailed for thousands of years as they traded along the North American Coast. We will visit the Wonderstrand written about in the Viking Sagas, Packs Harbour and Indian Tickle where there was once a great summer fishery, see the ruins of the site of the Whaling station at Grady and camp each night along the shore lines where archaeological exploration is uncovering artifacts that were left there by our ancestors up to 4000 years ago. At Cartwright Island you will see the remnants of a rock house that may have been built by the European visitors or have been there for thousands of years and built by the Aboriginal People. |
